Dakar 2011 Scrutineering-Le Havre
Posted on November 25th, 2010 by Rally Raid in Dakar 2011Liz and I spent wednesday & thursday in Le Havre checking out the bikes,trucks and cars(and moulles et frites!!),
Both days were very cold,with snow on the thursday.We met up with Patsy Quick with the bikes of Craig Bounds,Jenny Morgan & Si Pavey,Patsy had driven from the UK with Si for the day to get everything loaded onto the ship for a 3 week trip to Buenos Aires.
We stayed in the very pretty town of Honfleur on wednesday evening,then over to Caen on thursday,with much snow on the ground.
Bruno Da Costa,who we met in Rallye Maroc,when his brand new Yamaha 450 JVO kitted bike caught fire and was totally wrecked,arrived thursday morning with a smile and another new bike.
He had worked 3 weeks flat-out to make another Dakar ready bike in time for the ship leaving for Argentina.
