When fitted to the CRF250L the wheel travel will be 240mm (as OEM)

For riders who are comfortable with the ride height on the soft OEM suspension, or equally for riders who may have a short inseam to begin with, we offer our same high-performance 46mm body rear shock in a reduced travel length of 210mm (8 inches).

Once fitted with a correctly sprung shock, the CRF300L/R and CRF250R models will result in a 40mm lower static seat height, when compared to our full 250mm travel Level 1 suspension,  making the bike far easier to mount and dismount, and retaining a near OEM ride height.

NOTE - CRF250L OWNERS WILL RETAIN THE OEM 240MM WHEEL TRAVEL, BUT OUR STIFFER SPRING WILL INCREASE THE SEAT HEIGHT BY 25-35MM, SO OWNERS CAN FIT A KOUBA LINK IN ORDER TO LOWER THE SEAT HEIGHT BACK TO ORIGINAL (RRP 291).

IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO LOWER BOTH CRF300L & CRF300 RALLY MODELS, FITTED WITH OUR LEVEL 1 210MM SHOCK EVEN MORE, IF REQUIRED, USING A KOUBA LINK (RRP 756).

CRF250 RALLY OWNERS WISHING TO LOWER FURTHER WOULD NEED KOUBA LINK RRP 759.

SHOCK FEATURES:

• Our unique 210mm travel rear shock has been developed in conjunction with our engineering partners TracTive Suspension in the Netherlands. Offering a wide range of spring rates and correspondingly improved damping characteristics to suit all-terrain conditions.
• Our big-body shock features a huge 46mm diameter body and piston (similar to those used for our KTM 690 and Yamaha Tenere 700 rear suspension) which offers a dramatic increase in oil flow for far more precise damping control under a wide range of conditions, and more oil capacity to help reduce damping fade. 
• The nitrogen-charged shock body features a separation piston to eliminate foaming and provides consistent damping characteristics. This is key during prolonged off-road riding or more spirited highway riding, and whether you are solo or laden with luggage. 

KEY FEATURES INCLUDE:​

• Adjustable preload via billet preload ring, or HPA adjuster on L models.

• Easily accessible combined damping adjuster, which incorporates proportional valving between Rebound (80%) and Compression (20%) - featuring 24 clicks of adjustment. 
• Choice of six different spring rates to more closely match your weight and riding style requirements:  Note 110Nm spring is not sutable for the Level 2 Shock. 

All Rally-Raid Products / TracTive rear shocks are fully serviceable and rebuildable and come with a 2-year Manufacturer warranty.

OPTIONAL HYDRAULIC PRELOAD ADJUSTER: (SELECT FROM DROP-DOWN BOX ABOVE) 

AVAILABLE TO FIT CRF300L & RALLY MODELS-NOT CRF250L & RALLY

• This useful product has been designed for riders that want quick, easy adjustment of spring preload.
• It will allow the preload to be adjusted by up to 15mm with the simple turning of a knob on the remote adjuster, which adjusts the preload on the spring by means of hydraulic pressure.
• The remote adjuster knob can be rotated approximately 20 turns to achieve the full movement of the preload piston travel. The knob has a "click" every half-turn to aid setting.
• It is a very simple, quick way to adjust the preload when carrying extra luggage, or a passenger, or going from street to off-road travelling.
• No more hammering away at the OEM preload adjuster locknut and struggling to turn it.
• Simple to fit, and no maintenance required.
• Supplied with all fixings.

We feel that our unique 210mm travel ‘Low’ suspension option now offers owners and potential owners of the CRF300L and Rally models a far wider range of opportunities to personalise their machine. The CRF chassis already offers a huge amount of ground clearance, so reducing the travel and seat height by 40mm does not compromise the off-road ability of this bike unduly.

In addition, it makes the machine easier to mount and dismount, and if you plan to carry luggage in more of an adventure travel scenario, you will appreciate the more dynamic stance with a lower centre of gravity.

Similarly for those off-road riders who wish to tackle more extreme and technical terrain, the lower centre of gravity and ease of getting your feet down if needs be, makes the LEVEL 1 suspension option ideal for those looking for a genuine long-distance, fully road-legal, ’trails’ style motorcycle.

Please note that our LEVEL 1 210mm travel CRF shock will reduce the rear height of the bike slightly, and while it is technically possible to fit our LEVEL 1 shock independently of any other modifications, it really is essential to also lower the front of the bike a similar amount to maintain a similar fore-aft geometry. In that regard we would strongly recommend installing our LEVEL 1 (210mm) fork kit - which then offers a properly matched high performance ‘low’ suspension set-up front and rear.
